The legal conferences division of a leading global events company is looking for a talented Marketing Manager for a maternity cover role. The ideal candidate will have management experience in a busy B2B events team as well as hands-on experience of online and offline direct marketing.

You will be encouraged and expected to take the initiative, to develop and communicate new ideas and to play a vital role in driving delegate revenue growth across the portfolio of B2B conferences.

About you:

  • Strong and demonstrable history of events marketing, preferably in the B2B sector
  • Experience in managing a marketing team
  • Excellent written English and proofing skills; confident telephone manner
  • Analytical skills
  • Organised and efficient, able to juggle multiple campaigns at a time
  • Enthusiastic, committed, proactive and motivated
  • Commercial outlook with an ability to grasp market and competitive conditions
  • Experience in offline and online marketing including using social media
  • Good working knowledge of HTML and CSS is highly desirable
  • Experience of Salesforce and Pardot also desirable

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct management of 2 x direct reports
  • Lead the marketing function with oversight of up to 50 events
  • Own, develop and implement the marketing strategy for a portfolio of 15 events
  • Advise the events Managing Director on marketing budgets
  • Lead on data management
  • Oversee the implementation and migration of new marketing technologies & strategies
  • Monitor competitor activity and identify and exploit new marketing opportunities 
  • Manage external suppliers
  • Adhere to monthly budgets and ensure marketing costs are managed effectively
